Privacy Policy
Pickleball Log keeps your pickleball history on your iPhone. There is no Pickleball Log account and no Pickleball Log server, so there is nowhere for us to send it.

What Pickleball Log collects
Nothing is collected by us. We operate no servers, no accounts and no analytics. We receive no data about you or your use of the app, and we could not identify you if we tried.
What the app stores on your device

All of it lives in the app's storage on your iPhone. It is included in your normal iPhone backup, which is Apple's, not ours. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Anything read from Apple Health is deliberately not in that list. It is read when you look at a session and kept nowhere — see Apple Health below.
Location
Pickleball Log asks for location access so it can tell when you arrive at and leave the courts you chose. It uses geofencing: iOS tells the app that a boundary was crossed. Your location is never sent anywhere. It is not stored as a track or a history of where you have been — only as arrivals and departures at courts you picked yourself.
Pickleball Log needs "Always" access to notice a session while the app is closed. It works with "While Using" too, and you can change or revoke this at any time in Settings. Refusing it means logging sessions by hand; nothing else changes.
Apple Health
Optional, read only, and off until you turn it on. Pickleball Log can ask Apple Health what your watch recorded while you were on court, so a session can show how hard you actually played rather than only how long you were there.
It reads these, and only for the exact time ranges of sessions the app has already recorded:
- Heart rate
- Active energy (calories burned)
- Exercise minutes
- Walking and running distance, and steps
- Whether a workout overlaps the session, and what it was called
Pickleball Log never writes anything to Apple Health. It asks for read permission only, so it cannot add, change or delete anything in your Health data even if a future version wanted to.
Nothing read from Health is stored, copied or exported. It is read when you open a session, shown on that screen, and kept nowhere — not in the app's database and not in the CSV export. Health remains the only copy.
It never leaves your iPhone, and it is never used for advertising, marketing or any purpose other than showing you your own session. We have no servers, so there is nowhere for it to go.
Where steps or distance were counted by the iPhone itself rather than by something worn, the session says so, because the same number means a different thing depending on where the phone spent the afternoon.
If nothing was recording — no watch, no strap, nothing that writes to Health — there is simply nothing to show, and the session says nothing rather than showing zeroes. You can grant or revoke this at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Pickleball Log. Refusing it changes nothing else about the app.
The two places the app talks to Apple
Both are Apple services, used with your action, and neither involves us.
Finding a court
When you search for a court to add, what you type is sent to Apple Maps to return matching places. This is Apple's MapKit service and is covered by Apple's privacy policy. It happens only while you are searching.
Dictating a note
If you use the microphone button to dictate a note, Pickleball Log uses Apple's speech recognition. Where your iPhone supports on-device recognition, the audio never leaves the device and Pickleball Log requests that mode. On devices or languages that do not support it, Apple processes the audio on their servers under Apple's privacy policy. Typing a note involves no such processing.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or crash-reporting services of any kind.
- No selling, sharing or brokering of data. There is no data to sell.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
- No use of Apple Health data for advertising, marketing or anything but showing you your own session.
- No email address, phone number or name is asked for.
Purchases
If you subscribe, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Pickleball Log receives only whether a subscription is active. We never see your name, payment details or billing address.
Children
Pickleball Log is not directed at children under 13 and collects nothing from anyone.
Your rights
Because your data is on your device and not in our possession, you already have complete control of it. You can export everything from within the app — sessions, expenses, equipment and courts as CSV, and every photo as a file — and delete any of it — a session, a photo, a court, or the whole app — without asking us. There is no request for us to fulfil and no account for us to close.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. If a change ever means the app sends data somewhere, it will be announced in the app before it takes effect, not just on this page.
